>>52939522I appreciate how this route looks.
I appreciate the idea of looping back to further explore an area you couldn't reach before.
I do not have the mental faculties to remember 1 such area in every route, nor 1 such area in a series of routes. I will NOT remember these waterfalls when I close the image, I will simply remember the straightforward path.
This sort of route design looks excellent on paper, but is not nearly as fun in practice due to the constrained view of the camera.
If there was a way to get an overview of the route, perhaps even a heatmap of areas you've explored (as simple as marking any part your screen has personally viewed), or a way on most routes to go "skycam" or something so you can see all the wild stuff going on, that would be cool. And if you're worried about some hidden areas being dead giveaways, just throw some clouds on em or don't mark em on the map - boom, clarity of what's in a route, where you've missed something, and still some turbo secrets for people who can actually remember that waterfall they missed 3 towns ago.
Not hating, as I said I genuinely love how this map looks. But I do not like how it plays.
