I don't do RP but I've thought out their backgrounds/teams.
Left and right tackled the league together as kids and grew up having travelled several regions and training their teams. Reaching champion status, they turned their interests into altruistic endeavours, no longer challenging gyms but disrupting teams and gangs.
Left is like the player, battling enemies into submission with his team - the right joined the international police and uses more legitimate means of arrest as a detective.
But the fellas still make time to catch up with the lads at the pub regardless.
