If it wasn't long ago, and you don't live really far away, maybe consider posting pictures of your cat on online community/neighborhood sites (like Nextdoor/Craigslist) and post flyers around the neighborhood, like on telephone polls and such. Local/city animal shelters also sometimes have sections on their websites for pets that have been picked up, so checking there or calling the local shelter is an option too. Wherever your furry friend is, hopefully he's safe.
