>>35611773How about a split evolution for Numel?
Combine the idea of an oasis being a rare source of water in the desert, with camels storing water in their humps. (They don't actually do this, but cartoon logic.) Expand the idea of "grass" being on its hump. I guess I'm picturing an adult-sized Numel with a pool of water on top of its one hump, shaded by palm trees that grow on top.
I don't think you can get rid of the Groun typing. It's just too essential for a creature that embodies the desert, plus it ought to share a type with Numel. SoI'm thinking Grass/Ground or Water/Ground, and I THINK I'd go with the second for a few reasons. First of all it contrasts Camerupt better. Camerupt's whole thing is that it's this really angry camel with towering rage like a volcano, hence it getting Anger Point. The split Numel evo would be more calm and passive, and that's better characterized by Water.
Second reason is I don't want it to be too similar to Torterra. Third is that it makes more intrinsic sense for me for it to be Water. The thing's main shtick revolves around water, and it just happens to have trees growing out of it. So Water/Ground with the ability to learn some Grass moves seems right.
Oasis camel could be called Dromirage. Also maybe work something in about mirages. Maybe the camel is illusive, and seems to disappear when you approach it in the desert heat.
