It seems that thing on Excadrill's head was put in for this quirk alone. They should animate an attack like this in 3D so it justifies it being there.
And your complaints about Galvantula doesn't even make sense. "It doesn't look smooth"? "Tacked on spider parts"? It actually looks more smooth than Ariados. Why the hell are there two extra legs on top of the abdomen perpetually sticking up?
