>>54093645Presently Nintendo is working on a way to distribute 3DS titles on the Switch, in part to recoup some of the losses from the hack fiasco. In the near future, they'll be dropping 3DS support completely, and you'll be forced to buy a Switch to play them again.
Gen 6+, they'll simply sell the "old" 3DS games if you want to play them, while the teams assigned to work on remakes will begin other sidegame projects. The BW remake is the last true remake we'll get; Let's Go is considered the Gen 1 remake, and they're currently looking at either a Let's Go or modernized Pokemon Legends game for the Johto region (as they already have HGSS, but need a Switch option).
