I graduated from uni in May of 2019 and started working making solid money a month after. Ash won the alola league in the anime around October and the EBD promos were revealed some time after. I bought the lillie for $1900 and guzma for $100. I was buying collections and other stuff so I put acerola on hold but she went up in price too much and had to end up paying $2000 just for her.
It just felt right buying them since I figured it was a nice piece to have as a final farewell to the S&M era! After watching pokemon from season 1 as a child up to Ash winning the alola league months after I finished my school journey as an adult. It just worked out in my mind :3
