The part of your post that relates to Pokemon I mostly agree with. Random crits as a mechanic are an effective translation of striking an opponent in the eye or some other weak point in a more dynamic game. Personally, I don't mind random crits as much in Pokemon, both because RNG is already a massive factor, and that the skill comes from teambuilding as much as fighting. In nuzlockes they can even make gameplay more interesting since good players will be playing around critical hits, coming up with on the fly strategies that take them into account.
But, you have to be some sort of fucking autist to not get upset when you die or lose a game because of something completely out of your control. There are ways to prepare for them sure, but those methods will still fall in the face of bad luck. When the better player loses because of random crits, there's nothing to learn, nothing to do differently, they just got crit and died. The only way someone is apathetic in that situation is if they're not invested, at which point why are they even playing the game?
Don't talk about TF2, it's obvious you know nothing about the game or how it was designed. Remove them from the game entirely, unless a community server owner wants them on or something.
