>>36374693I’ve described him as a character taking elements of Hiker, Fisherman, and Rancher before—the Rancher part is mostly from his accent, coming from Solaceon. I write the Coronetian foothills as being similar to Appalachia, and consequently, write Humbert as a hillbilly.
He travels through plenty of different biomes. Plains, caves, mountains, snow, river and dale: whatever’s in the way between him and the next town. The only thing he won’t cross is a desert, because honestly, fuck that noise. Heat doesn’t agree with him. Forests are the most prevalent setting—the default, really—because there just seems to be an endless expanse of trees between each city in the anime. And that’s my guiding light for a lot of roleplay shit, it feels like the best example of the world and society. Yeats the Yamask was caught in the Solaceon Ruins though, not a forest. If you want more details though, check the link below, I'm running out of space.
Humbert's father handled all that, mostly (I wanted to include this part in the Virg backstory, but ran out of space: Humbert was allowed to tag along with his father on one of his many trips to Veilstone, while his mother stayed to watch the inn. Solaceon, being a very small town, lacks extensive medical facilities beyond a family doctor and a substandard Pokécenter, and so frequent trips to Veilstone Medical in the family jalopy became required. Humbert waited patiently in a hospital waiting room for an hour or so before they went to the pound.) He set some ground rules and also talked to his wife about it. Basically Virginia wasn't allowed inside the house unless in a Pokeball for awhile, and couldn't be taken to school.
Might as well just leave that Google Doc. I’ve been working on this character for almost four years now, so there’s quite a bit of info on him.
