>>56286756Honestly as a really little kid way back in like 2000/2001 I remember reading a summary of the Japanese episode on the internet and how in the OP screenshot James is taunting Misty about being jealous of his giant rack or whatever (and she actually is, she's literally shedding tears of envy about his fake male tits, even now I think that aspect's kinda fucked) and at the time I thought it was a really disturbing joke. Like I didn't have super political or religious parents, I was young enough that I didn't know anything about [homo]sexuality, and obviously my family was fine with Pokemon and let me go on the internet unsupervised, probably because they knew I'd just look up dumb Pokemon bullshit.
I guess it's because he's not even really attempting to crossdress other than the fake boobs that made it feel weird? Like in the other crossdressing scenes he often had on a wig or makeup or something besides just Huge Fake Tits. Or maybe because he doesn't even the fake tits under a shirt or something and they look too real; you can't even really tell where they begin and end. They look like His Own Tits, like he just spontaneously grew breasts. Just the entire effect was like seeing a man breastfeeding or something; it just feels off.
I don't even know where I'm going with this. The joke does seem really tame now after 20+ years of being exposed weirder jokes and fetishes etc., but I can look at that screenshot and still kinda understand the revulsion I felt from seeing it as a kid. It does feel a little weirder than the standard Team Rocket crossdressing jokes.
