When it comes to raising the Ralts line, the strongest bonds are formed in those raised from eggs. From the very start of their life, you're their whole world. It will protect, love, and synchronize with you much more strongly than some wild-caught specimen.
On the flipside of that coin, if one raised from hatching to maturity suddenly loses its trainer, the despair and grief it experiences is much stronger, and it probably won't survive long with you gone.
Ones that you obtain from a trade will have more difficulty bonding. Having already had a trainer they devoted themselves to, you remain secondary in their eyes, and it takes an incredibly long time to build up the same level of trust, love, and loyalty they had for their first trainer.
Another troubled one to raise is an orphaned specimen, left behind because a trainer died, simply abandoned it. Their grief for the loss of their trainer will never fade, and it will likely never express the same range of positive emotion is did before. However, they can eventually heal and come close to loving a new trainer as much as it did its first.
Worst of all are the unfortunate few who were maliciously abused and mistreated enough to destroy its trust and devotion to its trainer. These are broken inside and will rarely ever open up to another human again. The trust is simply gone.
