Agree with OP. Been playing since Gen 1. White Version was the only game in the series I disliked so much, I returned it for a refund. It just bored me to fucking tears, lads. The whole "deep plot" meme everyone goes on about is the main reason, but the game is just overall ugly. It's hard to look at. The battle scenes, the zooming in on sprites like another anon mentioned, poorly-designed Pokemon, all a big clusterfuck. Gen V was bad.

Hated them, too, it's just that GF decided to make an entire generation of them with V. We've got a garbage bag, an ice cream cone, a light fixture, palette swap mischievous mustache cloud guys (who become 4-legged mischievous mustache guys, which is pretty fucking weird and creepy desu), a dragon that looks like it was drawn in crayon by a 4-year-old, starters you can't do shit with, elemental monkeys you can't do shit with, and who could forget Klingklang? Hideous, boring, uninspired. It's not for the sake of arguing with people here, it's just my take.
