Lucius isn't the main character and probably won't show up in any real capacity outside of flashbacks. He's a self-insert in the same way that, I dunno, Sir Aaron from Movie 8 is. Since he loves bringing up Avatar, it's like if someone called Avatar Roku or Kyoshi fanfic self-inserters because they were stronger than Aang was, or the same for Aang with Korra. Entertaining the resident flamebaiter's argument shows a stunning lack of media literacy.
