>>55108812>>55108830I will say that I get it in the sense that its role in the story causes it to lose the mystique of legendaries like Ho-Oh or the legendary dogs, which rely on worldbuilding lore to build their status rather than a direct unavoidable role in the story. And the tidbits in the book don't really do a ton to alleviate that. But that's also been an issue with legendaries as a whole since gen 3.
Also I think the ruinous quartet fulfills the role of mysterious creatures surrounded by legends quite nicely. I don't mind having a forced box legendary if there's also some mysterious ones out there, especially when those forced legendaries are as neat as the bike lizards.
