>>20236234>>20236234The pokemon were surprisingly good; it felt like a fresh new gen for the first time. I liked the bright colors, the seasons, some of the music (undella bay, ftw) and several of the biomes. The cave felt boring, but some of the routes made it feel like I was exploring. Cynthia appreance was neat. I did not care for the new battle graphics/mode/whatever, and I really just don't like 3D in a pokemon game; I didn't like it with SS either. These newer games feel baby-fied and hand-holding...which suck.
I never played BW2 or Kalos, and I probably never will, though the 6th gen pokemon were surprisingly good, and some bits of the game look appealing.
Overall, I'd say firered is my favorite of the series, though I dislike the whole sevi islands things. Kanto is best, though the other regions are decent-good in their own ways; they just should have changed more of the formula for each of them and not try to be "same-but-different". It seems like they're trying to pander to too many different people.
I look forward to vp's south-america inspired game, and I hope to someday make my own.
