> 1 - They introduce over 150 new Pokemon with lots of new type combinations (Fairy/Dark, Poison/Steel, Dragon/Grass, Fighting/Electric etc) and a whole bunch of new bro-mon BUT about 20 of them are really shitty, forced-down-your-throat edgy legendaries
> 2 - Mega Evolutions are retconned out of the Gen 7 timeline, BUT fusions are introduced instead (only second stage evolutions like charizard and alakazam can be fused)
> 3 - The game has the most indepth and well thought out story of any Pokemon game BUT it has full voice acting and cutscenes as cheesy as anything 4Kids has ever put out
> 4 - the game is non-linear and has branching paths, sequence-breaking, a longer campaign than normal BUT the game becomes even easier than Gen 6
> 5 - The game has a Battle Frontier, a PWT and a couple of other post-game facilities BUT the level of cheating and RNG manipulation is beyond even the original Pokemon Stadium
> 6 - Most of the current balance issues present in Gen 6 are fixed, bug type, flying type, fighting type and ice type finally git gud BUT they introduce a new type (Time or something idk), wreaking havoc on the metagame
> 7 - They bring back follower Pokemon, seasons, soaring, dexnav, contests and all that good stuff BUT the region itself is bland as fuck so it's harder to enjoy all the nice side-content
