If you go Water Absorb that cuts your weaknesses but the weakness to Ice basically guarantees you won't be as good as Quagsire at walling Water and Ice types.
That being said your overall bulk is certainly better, and the widespread distribution of Trailblaze and Tera Blast this generation makes Quagsire's 4x weakness to Grass hurt way more than ever before.
