Not only is the typing pretty barren compared to hyper represented and varied ones like Water and Fire, but most of the recognized Fighters either are from Gen 1 or simply have it as their secondary type, which makes it less noticeable. The latter is also the reason why you won't see Luke as top Steel or Greninja as top Dark and the like. But yeah, people tend to have pretty bad taste regardless.
