I know that feeling all too well OP. Last month my dad put my dog out in the cold where she got hypothermia, and after that she started biting off the area she got frostbite. A week later my dad took her to an animal shelter instead of a vet, and because he told them she was a stray, they euthanized her because her self-inflicted wounds were too severe for them to do anything.
