>>34435447I tend to agree, but Gen 1 is like my bread and butter. I can play it to this day, and I won't get bored with it. I don't typically go back and play older games (even non-Pokemon games), but Blue was my first Gameboy game as a kid. I played through the Gen 1 games dozens of times. The first game where I only did one playthrough was Crystal, because I didn't want to lose all the stuff I had on that game. I'm not a "Genwunner" by any means, but I like them because they're so simple, and they accomplish what they're supposed to be at their core. They're also fast, so you don't feel like you get bogged down as much. There are some games/regions where I couldn't imagine doing a second playthrough, because it would seem like such a chore slogging through the main quest.
