I mentioned the Lilycove - Slateport interaction myself, but in that case that's one instance of it happening in Hoenn (it also happens once in Johto but there the game explicitly tells you they want you to do that and then you're never backtracking again) while in Sinnoh it's all over the place, especially once you get to the point where you have to revisit the lakes.
Yeah it's kind of an autistic thing to care about but still, it's something that wasn't really a big issue in prior gens.
