It's one of the main reason it stone ck while these can't, they feel like a desperate attempt for relevency, not helped by Z moves trying to rip off yokai watch.
They should have just tried to rework the pre-existing gimmick they had instead of making inferior ones that clearly had no real thought behind it and thusly no staying power.
Or remove all gimmicks to focus on the fundamentals of the games.
