I'm reluctant to thank you (thanks ego) but I will. I completely (willingly) ignore how I do scratches all the time. It's really a reflection of how insecure I am about my art and how much I feel the need to not lock myself onto a bad drawing, I always want to keep it unfinished to deflect any actual criticism. Just a sketch, you know the drill. I feel a bit insulted right now but I believe it'll work out for the better in the long run. In throwing my short fit after reading your comment I wanted to prove to myself I could do straight lines still so there's pic related with a comparison to a sketchy piece. Most of my drawings are actually rather small which makes practicing large ass lines harder (probably subconsciously intentionally tho).

>>38192339This too, I feel there's a distinction between visual art and music (where one's called "art" and the other, well, "music") that doesn't do the two justice. People who describe themselves as artists are most often on the visual side as far as I've seen.
