Who cares which individual pokemon got fucked over by the splits or got better. Moves were completely illogical. Ice punch was special. Its animation is a physical punch with some icicles around it. It's a punch with a bit of ice. Shadow ball was physical. It's a big ball summoned by some special energy and flung at the opponent. These made no sense in the logic of the game.
