>>56049282Yeah, I always just feel a little bad as, like you or that other anon said, it's such a thankless job. You'll get people putting all this love and energy into making something genuinely great and all they get in return is a niche audience who might leave them a like or comment for capturing, updating, or expanding on something we all liked as kids and that has since gone in a completely different directions. Worse, they may get a c&d if their romhack actually does get traction.
It's cheesy, but I believe that people who make romhacks are the unsung heroes of the retro gaming hobby... on the flipside of that, you never know what would happen if it became more mainstream and got more traction. Right now it's something that is filled with people who genuinely love the games they are working on and it shows. Make it more accessible or mainstream... and well, we see what happened to legitimately every hobby that has gone that route.
