Do you people know ME runs? Stands for Mystery Egg runs.
Over at /vp/ it's a somewhat common thing though people usually do it long after the game has been out to give themselves another fun challenge.
It has some basic rules.
>Step 1.Play up to the part where you get to trade with other people (in XY this is like right away I guess)
>Step 2Other player(s) will hand you a total of 6 eggs, you don't know what's inside them
>Step 3Hatch all eggs, box your starter pokemon
>Step 4Play through the game using only those 6 mystery mons you received.
It's really fun. You can end up with totally crazy teams. Many enjoy breeding mystery eggs just to trade them to others for their ME runs.
Example of pokes I had put in my ME eggs which I gave out:
Poochyena - Fire Fang, Ice Fang, Thunder Fang
Finneon - Agility, Charm, Sweet Kiss
Bonsly - Defense Curl, Selfdestruct
It's always an adventure cause you never know what you end up with. Maybe you even find new bros.
You could also try to do a wonder trade run with some self-imposed rules such as only use 1 of each poke you receive and only use <lvl 10 ones, might be fun too.
