So looks like I bit off more than I could chew with all of the restrictions I set up for myself (no healing items, no overlevelling, set mode, challenge mode), and my team still was unbalanced and had major weaknesses.
>VS. ShauntalWent smoothly, I defeated her with zero losses.
>VS. Grimsley Very unlucky. I started by paralyzing the opponents Liepard. The plan was to weaken the Liepard with paralysis, and then set up a sweeper with either shell smash or swords dance + sand rush, I went with shell smash. However both of my sweepers were male, and the opponents Liepard was a female and had Attract, which I didn't know about.
The only effect the paralysis had on the Liepard was slow it down a little, but the Attract made my Pokémon completely unable to move, which completely ruined my plan.
In the end I still won, but my team was completely ruined. The opponents Pokémon like Scrafty and Krookodile played heavily to my weaknesses. Everyone except for Brunhild and Bertolt died.
>VS. CaitlinI lost. With my only healing capability being leftovers or a sitrus berry, my only chance was to use Brunhild to slow the opponent down, and hopefully set up a sweeper with Bertolt, however the opponents Musharna put Bertolt to sleep and killed him easily, and while Brunhild was strong, he couldn't defeat the Elite Four alone with no healing or support, especially when the last member of the Elite Four would've been a fighting type trainer.
Technically I didn't set a rule that a sweep is a game over, and could raise a new team, but I think I'd rather accept defeat and start a new run.
I could've maybe won if I completely reshaped my team before elite four, dropping some old members like maybe Kamina or Brunhild (no point having two steel types), but I'd grown to like my old three veterans, and wanted to finish the game with them by my side, and also my laziness got the better of me.
I'll definitely return to this challenge later, but for today I sadly failed.
