>>43935546In my experience every time you'd want to use a Pokemon not commonly seen in the meta, supplimenting it with meta Pokemon to make up your core is a safe approach. If you want to run something odd like Malamar or Falinks for example, a great place to start may be Togekiss for redirection support or Arcanine/Incinenroar for physical defense assistance. Pokemon who are considered meta are often safe picks for results, the question now just comes down to synergy between the members.
His biggest assets by far are Adaptability and typing, giving him the ability to hit SE STAB moves for x4 instead of x3 which greatly makes up for his lackluster base SpA. A base 44 speed makes me think he's got Trick Room potential, so Dusclops or Hatterene (Gmax, can't risk setting of Misty terrain) could be a good compliment. A partner with Ice attacks could also help Drag fend off Ground or opposing Dragon threats that will no doubt outspeed you typically. G Darmanitan may be the way to go there.
I was trying to look it up but forgot what the name of the official Pokemon statistics site was that I would get all my official usage stats from during the ORAS and SM leagues. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
