Azumarill and it's line
During my first attempt at a Nuzlocke run, I played Emerald.
Started with my torchic, and caught a zangoose along the way. Then, as I made my way to the first forrest, the screen flashed black. A Marill came into view. I thought, "what the hell."
I threw almost everything I had at her and she just kept going like a champ, even though my torchic was almost twice it's level.
When she finally gave and was caught, the first thought in my head was to name it, "Willis," but I realized it was a woman, so I changed it to, "Rillia."
Throughout the run, Rillia kept on going. Even when others in my team came and went, she continued to keep going. At the second gym, I left Rillia at the head of the pack during a grinding mission, and felt a tinge of fear down my spine. I thought she could keep the roll-out train going and sweep past them. It stopped short at manectric. I saw her alone and thought it was the end. Thunder. I turned away, and didn't look. I didn't hear any fainting. When I looked back, I was dumbfounded. She'd taken a super-effected hit, and barely lost a nick of HP.
Along the way, I'd underestimated May afer the gym, and she killed half my team. Including my Marill. I felt like I'd let her down, my potential first Poke-Bro. Per the rules, I went to the neared pokemon center, went to the PC, and clicked, "Release," on her. Then I did it again. And again. "What the hell?" A message poped up. "This pokemon came back!" I felt my heart stop. "Was it worried about you?" I felt a tear streak down my cheek.
During the fight with Brawly, I got careless and let Brawly nearly wipe out my team, including my combusken. I was left with just Rillia For as long as I could remember, it was just me and Rillia.
At the elite four, Rillia was one of my top contenders. By the time I got to the champ, I was down to just Peliper(Peli), Walord(Nation), and Rillia. Rillia blew through the champ
