With a few exceptions all of his former companions were characters from the mainline games who were forced to retire by the time the next gen came around, but Goh is tied to Pokemon Go. I'd say he has a decently higher chance of becoming a permanent cast member but still, if the next season goes back to travelling through the newest region with game characters then he'll definitely get dropped eventually.
>>47400110Yeah Go mogged the games hard and it's only been getting bigger, it makes sense why the writers overhauled the anime into having a worldwide setting with Go catching mechanics. Maybe the question is not so much whether Goh will stay but if they'll keep this current formula to loosely "adapt" Pokemon Go while also adapting the mainline games in between arcs.
