Losing soldiers is never easy, but losing your first recruit is even harder.
Commander Meganium was always there for me, and the rest of the troop for that matter. When anyone ever lagged behind Commander was the one who picked up their slack.
It was the same against the Kimono Girl Quintet. Corporal Ambipom scouted ahead help judge the challenge better. After she left her report to me I would send out the one who was the most competent for the job. And it worked well until the 5th and final one.
Due to a slight misjudgment I sent out the Commander to face the Vaporeon, convinced of the clear type advantage. But what none of us foresaw was that the Vaporeon knew Aurora Beam. After two Aurora Beams Commander Meganium's fate was sealed.
Even though he was quickly avenged the loss still weighs heavily on my shoulders. Our previous successes had made me reckless, and half my troop paid the price with their lives...
It's obvious now that I need to prepare the new recruits, as well as the older ones, better than before. We can't afford to lose anyone else!
War does not determine who is right - only who is left.
