For me the only negative is the lack of Daycare on the Isle and how annoying traversing water is. I really need to emphasize that these things really cater to me as I've spent 90% of my play time in the Wild Area breeding, raiding, and wifi battling. If you are not interested in any of these things then you will not like the DLC as the "story" is short and easy.
