It's fact that post 4 is the hype shit, but it's also a fact that you need to read the previous parts to fully appreciate the later ones. Although usually "durr it only gets good on episode 1000" is a bullshit argument meant to deflect all possible criticism since no critics are going to watch a thousand episodes, JoJo has evolved, natively, thematically, and artistically, to the point where it's been recognized by high art, which is something pretty much no mangaka save Tezuka can claim. It's on display in the Lourve, has collaborated with Gucci on several occasions (which included decking out the boutiques in places like Paris and Milan), and other than Tezuka is the only manga art ever displayed in the Japanese national art museum.
I'm not saying you have to read hundreds and hundreds of chapters to get to the good parts, I'm just saying the payoff is sublime if you do.
My argument, if anything, is that it's retarded to say "hurr jojo is retarded and it's fans are retarded" if you have no idea what the fuck you're talking about since you only read/watched the shit everyone agrees is meh. It's almost like writing of the Once and Future King because you saw Disney's adaption of The Sword in the Stone and you thought it was mediocre.
