Growl+Hypnosis+Mud Slap is a really fun combo, both for catching and fighting. It makes Noctowl pretty much untouchable. That being said, I may be relying a little too much on it. Without Noctowl, the whole team kinda falls apart.
The level caps for Johto being so low really adds some extra difficulty to the game. It is very easy to overlevel your team and then be forced to box crucial team members at really inopportune moments. Had the Whitney level cap been one level higher, I probably wouldn't have needed to sacrifice anyone.
