>>56818947Hello I am just the expert you need for this question. I've got a condition called "I-make-an-OC-for-each-character-I-start-liking a-little-too-much-itis A.K.A. intense autism. Making OCs comes naturally to me to the point where its kinda uncontrollable but as an adult I tend to keep it locked down to a few select people (another yume, close friends who know about my retardation, and sadly my husband gets exposed to it against his will but he still humors me. Bless his heart.) I'm subtle about it out of basic modesty I suppose. If I do share my OC I tend to not make it explicitly obvious they have anything to do with canon characters. I think that's a defense mechanism on my part from living through the late 2000s and early 2010s as a vulnerable teenager seeing heaps of hate online for "Mary Sues" which just became a term for "female character I don't like" or "OC shipped with a canon character." These days it seems to be less taboo, but you'll still find people who call it cringe anyways. Honestly can't deny that it is, doesn't help that a lot of people who do it openly are still kids who don't have a lot of refinement about it. But I can't talk shit, that was me when I was 13 lol. My advice to you is to do as you please, but you don't need to feel pressured to share it with others unless you want to. Sometimes stuff made for you by you is the best stuff you can get.
Wow, that was a tangent. tl;dr Why yes, I am a yumejoshi that makes my own characters.
