Pokemon selection is the worst in the franchise by an incredibly huge margin(90% of available mons are shitmons from Johto, with the good ones being your starters, legendaries, and the very few and far between normal good mons, most of which are locked towards the very end of the game).
By far the worst fucking level curve in the series, with opponents jumping up levels like no tomorrow in every area. This is made worst by the fact that grinding is fucking PAINFULLY SLOW because all the grindable trainers use weak as shit mons, very often in their first fucking stage
All mons you can catch have a built-in recoil move, making catching them even more of a pain in the ass. Encourages save scumming to the extreme.
Literally the only thing it has going for it is the decent music.
