Definitely very pleased with the fact you only interact with SEC once in Carotos and you don't have to do the shitty hint puzzle.
The key puzzle being replaced with weird barrier shit is whatever, I guess it's more interesting now.

As said above, Jan usually just hamfists in chekov's guns after he writes a lategame plot event. With the interceptor pronoun shit he probably felt very proud to have telegraphed that in advance even if it just makes zero fucking sense
