Misty = obviously has a thing for Ash but Ash is too young/stupid/pre-pubescent to realize/reciprocate. And she's obviously very romantically frustrated by this. Gets grumpy all the time, particularly at Ash (because he's not picking up on her signs). In Victorian times, she would have been treated by a doctor for 'hysteria'. Look at how she lights up though when other guys flirt with her. Those 2 Orange Islands gym leaders. Even that Golduck lol.
(Apparently they're both 10 years old but I think Misty is at least a couple of years older, as she's taller and more sexually mature than Ash. Her being taller and seemingly more developed isn't a diet/malnourishment thing because Misty will have had to fight for protein with her 3 older sisters while only child Ash would have been spoiled by his mother and never lacked for good protein. So f they're both 10, Ash should be taller. But Misty is still clearly taller. She has to be older. If Brock is 15 and Ash is 10, Misty has to be 12 or 13. Definitely in puberty by then.)
So why didn't Brock and Misty just fuck? Doesn't matter if they aren't each other's ideal or goal. It would just be a mutually beneficial arrangement on their travels. They could both relieve their frustrations. Brock could ease his blue balls and Misty could tide herself over by it until Ash finally hit puberty and got a clue. They travelled together, slept next to each other every night. Don't tell me it didn't even cross their minds.
