I was walking around the local park when I heard a strange noise coming from the nearest pond. It sounded animalistic, but not quite like anything I'd heard before, so I decided to investigate. That's when I found him, toppled upside down against a tree, struggling to get up. "Mudkip!", came from his wide froggy mouth. It was the most fascinating creature I had ever seen, with four stubby legs and two large fins on its head and rear, and gills looking like whiskers on its face. I struggled to stifle the widest smile as I approached to pet him. He tried to struggle and fire a water gun at me, but due to his unfortunate position only managed to choke on it. Picking him up and turning him around, I helped him breathe again. Coming to his senses, he backed away and stared at me cautiously. Afraid he'd try something again I stood where I was. Realizing I had a small bag of jelly beans with me, I slowly reached for my bag. Mudkip let out a low growl, before I pulled out the bag, ripped it open and offered it to Mudkip. Eyeing the candy curiously, he finally took his first steps towards me. His eyes were darting over the entire bag and its contents, as if he were searching for gold, and then jumped a little, as he quickly reached for the candy and ate one. It was a blue jelly bean. He let out a soft "Muuud..." as he slowly savoured the candy, looking very pleased. This was my chance, I slowly reached for his head, and started petting him. He was a little startled but quickly calmed down as I started rubbing his blue head. It was very slick, wet and almost rubbery, though it felt nice. It didn't seem like I was hurting him, his face still looking pleased. I sat down and we stayed there for a while, petting and eating more of the delicious candy, until someone walked by. It was my neighbor. "Yo, that's a weird-ass fuckin' dog", he told me, "you should take it to the vet, it's lookin' blue nigga". I replied the obvious, "He's perfect just the way he is". I do like my mudkips.
