>>50815930Rejuv is actually better in the music department, they shelled out money to GlitchXCity for custom music. They also pull from more sources, but Jan has a crippling addiction to PMD. I haven't really noticed horrible misuse of music more than Reborn does, though it should be said that the fucking wild encounter theme is Stadium's Mewtwo theme. The lead artist and essentially the second-in-command of Rejuv, one 'Zumi', also contributed original music from a fangame she was planning but scrapped in order to focus on Rejuv. Rejuv's greatest sin is probably killing something that could have been good.
I'm going to focus on the custom music. Team Xen grunt has a lot of light tones that attempts to actually make the group seem mysterious, which I like. Custom music goes a long way to establishing mood and how the game feels, because they used to just use GlitchXCity Team Rocket music before, and instead of thinking they were a mysterious unknown group, I focused on how they are very blatantly a fucking ripoff Jan didn't think through.

The use of drums and abstinence from fucking electric guitar like every other music hack tries to use with 'intense' music makes this one of my actual favourite battle themes. I was very impressed when I first heard this, so much I thought it was impossible for Glitch to have created it.

The mood feels quite incoherent, but on the other hand maybe it fits because Rejuv's gym battles make Reborn look well-balanced. This isn't a remix GlitchXCity decided to do for fun and the game later took, Jan needs to ask for his money back.
