>>40086762I posted this a while back ago, but just make Gym's battle faculties like Pokemon Stadium.
>No Gym puzzle, relegate puzzles to overworld dungeons, minigames, etc.>Sign up at a Gym to do either the Main challenge, Lv. 100 challenge, or Monotype challenge>Main Challenge is 3 consecutive battles, 2 with normal trainers and the final with the gym leader>No breaks in-between them, your party is healed between each battle but KOed Pokemon won't be revived so you can't suicide your way to the leader>Levels for the Main Challenge are what you'd expect them to be equivalent to the story progression, and it's the only one required to get the main badge and continue progression>Lv. 100 challenge is simple, the Gym's trainers and leaders all use Pokemon Lv. 100, have more interesting and appropriate teams, etc. Gym leaders and trainers WON'T just have teams of Pokemon the gym's type, but more varied, like Pokemon Stadium. Still a theme, but less to be swept by>Monotype challenge is also set at Lv. 100, but both the opponents and YOU will only be allowed to use Pokemon of that Gym's type.>Beating a challenge upgrades your gym badge, but it's only important for completionists and those who enjoy battling, only the first badge is required for the main quest>No EXP for any of the challenge, though Gyms now have a basement where you can fight trainers for EXP that reset once a week. Challenges can be repeated as much as you'd like and your Pokemon gets a ribbon for each one they beat
