Basically, you can't just put those colors together anymore on a female/feminine character or else said character becomes a (often unintentional) double-edged political statement (trans will take it to mean "X says trans rights", "sorry incels but X is for trans people only", 4channel will take it to mean "gamefreak panders to troons now, it's over", "tranny seal", and so on).
Under normal circumstances I wouldn't make such an insane-sounding, schizo-tier post, but since it always happens when such a design is released (sylveon, primarina, hatterene, iono, the scarf guy with blue hair, forgot his name), I've come to assume it's not such a farfetched explanation.
