>>54047679This. Instead of complaining and focusing on negatives constantly, people should talk about the stuff they actually like, so here's some positives for every gen.
>Gen 1Obviously has tons of nostalgia, Blue was the first game I ever owned. Living through Pokemania was an experience I'll never forget.
>Gen 2I was amazed at the colors and especially the day/night cycle. Johto is a great region too, max comfy.
>Gen 3Hoenn is without a doubt the best region because of its massive variety in locations and biomes. The sense of exploration was at its peak. Amazing soundtrack.
>Gen 4Snow routes are absolute kino. I actually thought Mt. Coronet was cool for how massive it was, especially the final climb up it to reach Spear Pillar.
>Gen 5The decision to go for an all-new dex was genius. They also tried to do something with the plot for once and it paid off. I'll keep saying the fact the "evil team/legendary" and "become champion" plotlines weren't two seperate things but reached their conclusions together in one climactic finale was fantastic and I wish they did that more.
>Gen 6It was cool to get a region based on a country I've been to several times and know pretty well. Fun to recognize a lot of the inspirations. Also, ORAS gets way more hate than they deserve and were fine remakes with some amazing new stuff in there.
>Gen 7Alola is by far the most well thought out region. It has a very unique culture with its own customs, and the pokedex was very well detailed in how the pokemon lived in their ecosystems, especially with the introduction of regional variants.
>Gen 8Reframing gym battles as big sports events in big stadiums with massive crowds was a really cool choice. The music shifting throughout the battle and crowd cheers being used in the music was great.
>Gen 9Despite the many shortcomings SV have, they have without a doubt some of the best writing and characters in the series. Arven might be my favorite character in any pokemon game.
