>>53347279Funny how the "Pokémon made evil" concept has many names between Japanese and English.
>TCG - Pokémon raised to do evil deeds: JP = Bad, EN = Dark>All - New type to counter Psychic-types: JP = Evil, EN = Dark>Orre games - Pokémon modified to do evil deeds: JP = Dark, EN = Shadow>GO - Pokémon modified to do evil deeds: JP = Shadow, EN = Shadow>TCG - Pokémon raised to do good deeds: JP = Gentle, EN = Light>>53345751Yes, but there are issues.
I like how it gives that "light element" that Normal and Psychic couldn't fully fulfill, but done in a neutral way where species of that type don't have to be "goody". I also like that the basis is a type and an egg group like a few others such as Bug and Grass.
I don't like how the type is currently balanced. It's nice that it helped balance out certain types like Dragon, Poison, and Steel, but it's made too strong. Does Fairy need to be immune to Dragon rather than resist it? Why does Fairy resist Bug?
How come it became the defacto "Food Type"? Swirlix made sense because of fairy floss, but what about Milcery and Fidough?
