>>44095592Anon while I like Leon a lot, the ideas and concepts given to him were really good for a champion on a region who treats battles as a sports tournament well liked by everyone there, but SwSh sucked on executing them properly. His likability is stablished, yes, but you can't really form the idea of how much of a deal the regional Pokémon League is besides what a couple of NPCs says. He is unbeatable, a celebrity and a hero-like figure even, yet they fail to show -or hype him up- how powerful he is supposed to be. It's real good that we finally have a champion who does champion duties but everything happens offscreen, and that's my main problem with how SwSh handled its characters and concepts. Because on paper they're great, but on execution, they failed real bad.
