It forces GF to continually come up with new, stupid shit to be able to access them. Dream World was a laggy, shitty mess with less depth than a neopets flash game, Friend Safari might've been fine if it weren't for the fact that you needed specific friend codes to get the shit you wanted, and what's more you had to be online at the same time as the other player to get that good shit. I didn't buy ORAS so I don't know how they handled them there.
Chaining SOS calls sucks ass, and hopefully it doesn't come back, but that just means they're gona come up with some other inane bullshit to replace it.
Not to mention the whole system is entirely arbitrary. I hatched a Shiny Gligar and it came out with Sand Veil instead of Immunity. Since Immunity is its HA, i can't use an ability capsule to fix it, so it's fucking worthless.
Easy solutions include:
>Make HAs an even threeway split with regular abilities
>Reduce the number of potential abilities a pokemon can have from 3 to 2. The only pokemon that actually have gotten 3 good abilities from HAs are Scrafty and Conkeldurr. It's no great loss if Breloom loses Effect Spore or whatever. Then make those two abilities equally likely. Bronxong's ability is Heavy Metal, which no one would lament if it were gone forever
>Make HAs hidden, as usual, but let the players select which ability they want to change to when using an Ability Capsule
>Create an item like the Ability Capsule that changes the pokemon's ability from whatever it currently is to its respective HA
tl;dr: Fuck SOS battles and fuck Ability Capsules. Fuck. Yes, I am fucking mad.
