Ghetsis calling N a freak without a human heart is completely ironic since he deceived his own people and is a by definition a psychopath. He might have been jealous of N and that led him to become so hateful and spiteful towards his own son, adoptive or not. Gamefreak seemed to have double down on Ghetsis' irredeemable pos nature when he threatened to kill another child (Lillie) in USUM. At the end of the day, I guess this still makes Ghetsis a specially unique character within the Pokemon universe and that's good. I think Masters might have retconned him having a stroke and being partially paralyzed, although it was never directly implied. People also used to theorize his Hydreigon mauled him since it knows Frustration.
