Anyone who retains an interest in pokemon as an adult is probably at least a little broken inside, and anyone who still posts on 4chan after the year 2007 is guaranteed to be. But even beyond this board it's not that much better. Pokemon just attracts the desperate and unfulfilled by design. Take the utopian ecofantasy setting, combine it with the number and variety of waifubait/husbandobait characters, combine that with the pokemon themselves, and it's no wonder why it's so popular with people riddled with neuroses and delusions.
