...It wasn't bad, by any means, but it certainly was a downgrade from BW2. I enjoyed the scenery and they got online functionality spot on. However, its story and characters were rather bland and it's notoriously easy. And, of course, I must mention the handholding and frequent cutscenes.

Pathetic remake. Despite its more fluctuated character development and "alternate plot," it is somehow brings less than what the originals had; removal of areas, dumbing down game mechanics, etc.
And, it brings XY's handholding, cutscenes and, again, piss-easy difficulty. Whereas, for example, RSE's Tate & Liza had me seething with anger, ORAS' had me yawning.
Finally, I must mention its lack of Emerald content. And I don't mean that homosexual Delta Episode; I of course mean the Battle Frontier(Really, it's all anyone cares about when "Emerald content" is mentioned).
Overall... Just play Emerald.
