Randomized similar strength wild pokemon, starters were random 3 stage, trainer pokemon are also randomized, and all trainers have a +50% level modifier, so hopefully things will actually get challenging.
I think I'll keep generally the standard rules. Can carry mons over between games (They'll start at level 5), but I only get one box (30 pokemon) to work with, and I'll retire pokemon used to beat the Elite Four.
This doesn't feel like an awful start. Rival started with an Abra, but I didn't let them keep it.
